Gosh where has the time gone! Last I remember it was still warm enough around here that we were going swimming three times a week, then school started and before you know it ITS NOVEMBER!!! We here at CD have been having a great time just being us. We’ve been taking it easy and hanging out. For me that’s usually always when inspiration strikes me. One of the my more recent inspirations was going to an actual pumpkin patch! Being a city girl, that was a huge thrill for me! It was fun to drive 40 mins out of the city and geek out with my family! The farm was huge and the color palette alone was a sight to be seen! Can’t wait to use those colors in my holiday goodies!

Us geeking out!
Another recent fun event was my little lady’s school fall festival. I get soo excited when I see things through a five year old’s eyes! The littlest things become magical and seeing her eyes light up at the mention of bobbing for apples just makes me want to do the same! I like the Summer season, but I think I LOVE San Francisco’s Indian Summer/Fall more!

And a special thanks to all my loyal custmers who haven’t left me despite my web stores troubles! I promise a much easier ( and one that WILL work ) store to come soon!!!

Sorry for the graphic title, but that’s what my beautiful five year old yelled out to me last week and I thought it was so funny I almost did barf on her! For the last couple weeks I have been battling a sinus infection and a stomach flu. Now usually everyone else gets sick while I stay healthy and take care of everyone else. Well this time I got super sick and everyone else stayed healthy. In this neck of the woods lately it seems like if anyone sneezes everyone around thinks “Oh gosh they have the swine flu!” me included! My doctor assured me I did not have swine flu and demanded that I stop reading everything on WebMD.com! I’m feeling more like myself now and for the record, I did not throw up on anyone this time around!
How lucky am I that just as I’m feeling human again I have this to look forward too!!!

Made by the very beautiful and talented Veronica Darling!! I am floored! Seriously, I am way excited and already have outfits set up for it! Check out Veronica’s blog she just made 100 outfits in one years time and if that’s not enough must of them were made with upcycled materials!!!

As promised here’s part two to my thrifting adventure in the Midwest!

Okay its black, its linen, it has a pockets! Oh and did I mention the back of the dress is AWESOME! This dress is super cute, easy to wash and way comfy!

YES, its another peter pan collar! This great dress has a great print and again pockets! This is another one that I still haven’t figured out what I will refashion it into, but I’m sure inspiration will come.

I was heart broken when I realized this amazing dress what made out of polyester! I love LOVE this dress but am allergic to polyester. I still couldn’t pass it up and bought in hopes of finding it a good home with someone who can appreciate such a great dress! If this might sound like you let me know!

Um I think the only way to describe this dress is “Semi-Sailor” don’t you agree! Love the dress just not my size! If your a 4 petite and have great taste let me know!

I almost left without purchasing this little delight! It cost me 10 dollars and I only had 12 left! But I’m glad I bought it after all. Handmade with amazing craftsmanship and still in awesome condition. PLUS I like buying things that have been made for other people, its like keeping the dream alive!

I like leather bags especially old leather bags! Well this one came as a treat to me. I know its hard to see but its actually a Coach bag! Its a vintage Coach messenger bag! I haven’t tried to figure out when it was made but I found two ticket stubs for a movie that cost 1.50 for the matinee movie on June 8th.
All in all I had great time on vacation and can’t believe I came home with such great treasures! Thanks for reading!

Last month while on vacation visiting the Midwest I went on a bit of a thrifting spree. So I thought I’d show off some of the goods scored with all my crafty friends! Lets get started

It’s hard to find a good new vintage bathing suit without spending an arm and a leg. And I should know I’ve been looking for one for ages! I found this brand new one with the tags still attached! The only problem is that it has a tiny snag on the back. I’m not sure if I’ll be keeping this one, but its definatly one of my coolest finds
UPDATE: SOLD!!.

This cute little yellow lacy “bolero” ( I think, anyway ) also came with a long 70’s polyester dress that was also cute but just not my style. So I donated the dress right back after paying for it.

I’m a huge sucker for peter pan collars! HUGE, seriously! This is a 1950’s cotton art smock, and although I’m not really into wearing smocks this one was just too good to pass up!

Hello 80’s! I got this one cause it reminded me so much of one my mom used to wear a lot when I was a kid. This one is in great condition, but again not sure If I’ll end up keeping it UPDATE: SOLD!!.

Instantly I fell for this amazing print! I’ll probably refashion it, I’m just not sure into what.

I just realized that theirs a pattern here. Hmmm I guess this is the part where I confess to liking dresses! This little number is a vintage house dress, I think it was handmade not sure what era but it from the stitching I’d have to say no later than 60’s. It is in amazing condition and fits great!
Stay tuned for part two! Also if you see something that catches your eye let me know I do trades/sales all the time!

I have a beautiful sister whom we call Bee but pronounced B like the letter ( inside joke! ). Well our baby sister Bee is turning of age (drinking) age next week! And being the greatest sister in the world I made her what I make both my sister every year on their birthdays! I make them a special dress to wear while frolicking around on their birthday! This year I made her two dresses. I could not make up my mind! Both dresses are soo her yet completely different dresses.

The first one I made to pay “homage” to her “rockabilly roots” its a sassy halter top dress in a black and white print that has music notes and instruments, I also added some red fabric to add a little vavavoom.

back of the dress
The second is a more subtle work appropriate wrap dress made out of 50’s inspired purple fabric with roses printed on it. I know she’ll love them both!

In other news I re-joined the Wardrobe Re-fashion Challenge! I did it for 6 months a year and a half ago and it was great! I did awesome in the not buying anything but horrible in the re-fashioning part of it. This time around I hope to do better in re-fashioning.

Heeheehee sorry for the corny title, I couldn’t help myself! So a couple of months ago I came across this Isaac Mizrahi for Target dress at my local Goodwill that I just had to buy! The print was amazing and to my great surprise so was the linning in the dress!! The dress is a size 18 and the cut of the dress was just not flattering to my body so I thought “I’m going to buy it and re-fashion it to something else”. I certainly had enough fabric to make self a dress of my own size (I’m a size 8/10 by the way) but I just wasn’t sure what kind of dress I wanted to make it. I put it aside and thought I’ll figure it out later.

Well I’ve found it! I’m way into this pattern the problem is that no one seems to have it! I keep searching and I hit dead ends! SO I’ve come to realize that I need to put out a call to all my internet hommies and hope that someone has a lead for me! A lead or the pattern itself will be handsomely rewarded! If not I leave it up to the thrifting gods, who so generously take care of me and my thrifting habit!

This month has flown right by me! I had the show in the beginning of the month ( btw, THANK YOU ALL who came out to say hi and/or bought something from me, its people like you who make this worth it for me, YOU DA BEST! ) right after that I went to visit my in-laws for 2 weeks. And now I’m in the middle of swimming lessons/kite flying/picnic having whirlwind summer that can only be described as pure bliss for my five year old and I!

Now usually when you ask a city girl such as myself ( woohoo SF!! ) if she would like to go to the Midwest ( as in Wichita, Kansas ) the answer will probably be no. Not this girl, WOOHOO thrift stores!!! Two weeks was not enough time, sure I spent all my vacation money in one week at Salvation Army ( a post showing off the goods is coming soon, I promise! ) but their was just soo much more thrifting to be done. When I wasn’t hitting the thrift store I was admiring all the clouds! I love clouds and the only thing I love more than clouds are PINK SUNSETS!!! It was an awesome 2 weeks, thank you Momma K and Daddy Don!
I love this stage of the processes when inspiration comes and the ideas are limitless! I’m also very thankfull to be able to spend the summer with my kid! Gosh I love warm weather and strawberry shortcake ice cream bars!

I love spring, I really do! Something about the crispness of the air and the trees blossoming that really makes me want to shed my jeans and jackets and wear my dresses and light cardigans! Well in San Francisco, California even though its spring or summer for that matter it still gets cold. So dresses and cardigans just don’t have a chance against the cold bay air that breezes through our streets all year long. What’s the next best thing you ask? My newest addition to the Crafternoon Delight line!

Made from reclaimed vintage fabric! They are 100% cotton machine washable. They are sturdy enough to carry farmer market goodies but light enough to carry in around as well. With strong cotton straps and with a matching pocket inside. Most bags are sized 16h x 16w. Truth be told I’m head over heals for this bag, it makes me feel a little sunnier even when its 50 degrees outside.
Each bag is 25 dollars and can be bought by emailing me at sales(at) crafternoondelight (dot) com! Also please remember that the fabric is limited and I only have about 2 of each bag soo once its gone its gone forever! For more info please check out my store!

As much as I’d like to think that I am an island with no need for anyone if I so choose, I’m realizing that it’s not true. For the last couple weeks I’ve been getting ready for a craft show (its tonight!) and it’s been quite chaotic around here. I’ve noticed a pattern with myself, I brainstorm, work, brainstorm some more and then I holler for someone who never gets any credit for leading me in the right direction. Here’s to you dear husband! Thank you for always proof reading, centering, tasting, trying on, and drawing, anything I ever throw your way! Thank you for keeping me sane at all times and for making me laugh when I’ve wanted to cry over buttons! You are my rock, inspiration and will always be favorite guinea pig.
This lip balm flavor is in your honor!
Introducing CHERRY-MINT!

Making its debut tonight and will be available for sale for the summer along with the original Soy Lip Balm Flavors.

I’ve noticed that I’m either caught up on craft work or caught up on reading everyone elses blog! Although right now I’m neither, with my next craft show less than two weeks away I’m in full fledged mad-women mode! I’m very excited about my spring/summer items! Full pictures aren’t ready yet, but heres a sneak peak!

Sneak Peak!
Till then please check out my friend Sarai’s blog/store. She is as sweet as she is talented! When you post comments on peoples blogs most of the time you don’t get a response and the more popular the person the less likely it is you’ll ever hear from them. Not Sarai she goes above and beyond in answering comments! She is extremely talented and a very delightful blogger! So check her out and buy one of her patterns I have one and LOVE IT! Can’t wait to buy another one!
